What we do at Blykalla
Blykalla is a Swedish deep-tech company at the forefront of the nuclear industry, pioneering the development of small modular reactors that provide clean, safe, and reliable energy. Thanks to lead-cooling, we achieve high safety in a very compact format, allowing for a simple and cost-effective design that can be mass-produced. Our unique reactor design will provide safe and green baseload energy that perfectly complements solar and wind power.
Are you a skilled mechanical engineer with a passion for solving complex design challenges? Do you enjoy hands-on engineering work in a fast-paced environment where your contributions have real impact? Join Blykalla, Sweden's pioneer in next-generation nuclear energy, as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

Enjoy deep technical work and hands-on mechanical design.
Take ownership of your deliverables and see them through to completion.
Question assumptions and continuously seek better engineering solutions.
Are comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving environment.
Value open, respectful communication and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and systems for SMR applications, from concept through detailed design.
Produce detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
Interpret, implement, and trace requirements throughout the design process.
Critically evaluate results from mechanical, thermal, and fluid analyses and iterate designs accordingly.
Support prototyping, testing, and design verification activities.
Collaborate with R&D, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and compliant designs.
Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.
Communicate technical progress and design decisions within project teams.
