At Atlas Copco Industrial Technique, our Global Sourcing organization plays a key role in enabling sustainable and competitive solutions for customers worldwide. We are now looking for a Category Purchaser – Electromechanics Parts with a focus on cabling and connector solutions who wants to work in a global, cross-functional environment, close to both technology and business. In this role, you will contribute to developing strong, long-term supplier partnerships within cablage that support our operations, performance ambitions and sustainability objectives.
Your role
As Category Purchaser, you will be part of a global, category-managed sourcing team with responsibility for supplier selection, development and performance management within cabling, connector and related electromechanical sub-assemblies. You will work closely with colleagues across purchasing, R&D, quality, logistics and operations, contributing to strong results across Quality, Delivery, Cost, Sustainability and Technology (QDCST).
You will also lead and participate in cross-functional Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) initiatives on a global level, ensuring cost efficiency throughout the product lifecycle. The role is central to securing supplier performance, mitigating supply risks and supporting long-term category strategies.
You will report to the Department Manager within Global Sourcing.
Key responsibilities include:
Contributing to supplier selection processes in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
Analyzing spend data, preparing and conducting negotiations, and maintaining sourcing parameters
Driving cost-reduction initiatives together with R&D, with a lifecycle and cost-engineering focus
Leading cross-functional TCO projects in line with agreed sourcing strategies
Contributing to and supporting category strategy execution
Managing supplier contracts and agreements
Developing supplier relationships to continuously improve performance in Quality, Delivery, Cost, Sustainability and Technology
Ensuring correct purchasing and sourcing data in systems
Proactively identifying and limiting supply risks
Supporting change management for supplied parts
To succeed, you will need
We are looking for someone who combines commercial understanding with technical interest and a collaborative mindset.
Experience from strategic purchasing or sourcing, preferably within a technology-driven or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of category management principles
Solid commercial and financial understanding related to supplier relationships and negotiations
Experience in project management, quality processes, LEAN or logistics is considered an advantage
Understanding of manufacturing processes and experience with SAP is a plus
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
A university degree in a technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering) or equivalent experience
You are a clear communicator who builds trust and long-term relationships. You take ownership, act proactively and focus on delivering value, both individually and as part of a global team.
