Om jobbet

At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner—and every person here makes that happen. You’ll be empowered to lead, supported to grow, and proud of the impact we create together. Join us and help run what runs the world.
This position reports to: R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities
Join us at ABB’s Process Control Platform (PCP), a global technology hub within ABB’s Automation business. We develop world‑leading automation products — both hardware and software — used for monitoring, process control and optimization across a wide range of industries.
As digitalization accelerates, our solutions play a key role in connecting manufacturing data with enterprise systems and making information available in real time. Here, your work will directly contribute to smarter, safer and more efficient industrial operations worldwide.
As a Software Engineer with a focus on test and automation, you will be part of a collaborative R&D team working with several core products within ABB Ability System 800xA — including 800xA Base, Multisystem Integration and System Installer.
Your work will include:
Driving your own development activities while collaborating closely with colleagues across the team and organization.
Developing and improving test‑related applications such as test clients and test servers for OPC UA.
Playing a key role in increasing our coverage of unit tests, developer tests and automated tests.
Contributing to new product functionality as well as maintaining and improving existing features.
Supporting documentation, investigations and Level 4 support when needed.

This is a role where you will have real influence on how we build quality into our products — and where your ideas and curiosity are highly valued.
Qualifications for the role
You have a relevant academic education. Either you are newly graduated, or you have a few years of work experience as a software engineer.
You manage programming languages such as C++, CLI, .NET/C#.
Preferably you have some experience from working with OPC UA. Experience from working with WPF and/or COM is also meriting.
If you have worked with System 800xA before it´s a merit and valuable.
You are used to an agile/SCRUM based way of working, preferably inspired by SAFe.
You are used to work in teams and have a good social competency and ability to work together.
You will be working in an international organization and therefor it´s needed to speak and write English fluently. Spoken and written Swedish is necessary as well.
