The Children and Women's Centre is a unit within Region Östergötland. Paediatric and adolescent care takes place in two clinics, one at the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Vrinnevi Hospital in Norrköping and at Crown Princess Victoria's Children and Youth Hospital at Linköping University Hospital, also including an outpatient clinic at Motala Hospital.

Job description
Crown Princess Victoria's Children and Youth Hospital treats patients between the ages of 0-18 for both medical and surgical diseases. We conduct county health care and highly specialized regional and national health care in inpatient- as well as outpatient care. Our operations are located at Linköping University Hospital (inpatient, outpatient) and Motala Hospital (outpatient care). Research and development work is a high priority at our hospital. Many different professional groups work together with the goal of giving children and young people the best possible care.
One of Sweden’s six paediatric oncology centres is situated in our Children’s hospital in Linköping. Our Childhood Cancer Centre consists of inpatient care, clinics and day care. In addition to children with oncological and haematological diseases, the ward also treats children with diabetes in need of inpatient care and children with neurosurgical diseases. The collaboration between the various units at Crown Princess Victoria's Children and Youth Hospital is well developed, and the department also has the expertise to care for children with other medical and nursing needs. We participate in national and international studies in paediatric oncology and our own research is conducted in collaboration with Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) and the University of Linköping. At the Paediatric Cancer Centre there are two senior physicians who have completed their doctoral degree and three doctoral students in paediatric oncology, one of whom is expected to defend his thesis in 2027.
About you
We are looking for someone who is a qualified paediatric oncologist and has a previous research commitment. As you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

Terms of employment
Before moving to Sweden you need to reach a certain level in the Swedish language and have your medical training recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/.
Prior to employment in a patient-related job within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to fill in a health declaration.
The employment will start with a trial period, combined with further language studies. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by the County Council of Östergötland, it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.
All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary is set individually depending on your qualification and experience.
