What you’ll do
The Plant Support & Maintenance Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and maintenance of plant assets for the Green Iron facilities.
This role acts as the technical authority for asset maintenance, inspection, corrosion management, and reliability, ensuring that equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and within design life. The role is critical in managing hydrogen-related degradation risks and ensuring long-term asset integrity through advanced inspection and monitoring programs.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
Establish and manage comprehensive asset maintenance programs covering static and rotating equipment, ensuring safe and reliable plant operation within design limits.
Define, implement, and oversee the inspection regime for DRI & HMP equipment & piping through periodic inspection programs & deploying the advanced NDT techniques.
Develop and implement corrosion monitoring programs for both DRI & HMP equipment and piping.
Develop and implement risk-based inspection (RBI) programs for critical equipment, including reactors, piping, and pressure vessels. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Identify and manage degradation mechanisms, including corrosion, erosion, creep, fatigue, and hydrogen-induced damage. Ensure materials are operating within safe limits and recommend upgrades where required.
Define and continuously improve maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, and condition-based) in collaboration with Maintenance teams to optimize
Define equipment criticality and support optimization of spare parts strategy to ensure availability while minimizing inventory costs.
Manage asset lifecycle strategies, including equipment aging, degradation tracking, refurbishment, and replacement planning.
Develop and enforce engineering standards, inspection procedures, corrosion management guidelines, and best practices aligned with industry codes (API, ASME, ISO).
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards related to pressure equipment, machinery directives, Hydrogen and Hazardous services, and plant integrity, including applicable Swedish regulatory requirements.
Apply risk-based methodologies to prioritize inspection, maintenance, and investment decisions, balancing safety, cost, and production.
Develop and mentor a team of engineers in inspection, corrosion, and reliability.
Provide technical support during critical equipment failures and plant emergencies to ensure safe and rapid recovery.

Requirements
Education and Certifications
At least a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering.
Experience
Extensive leadership experience in a similar role, preferably in a plant producing HBI and HDRI, or similar products, with a strong focus on managing, leading, and/ or improving DRI Plant & Green Hydrogen Plant Operation in high-demand industrial environments.
Experience in greenfield projects, startups, or commissioning.
Strong process and technical knowledge in the relevant field.
Experience in ISO systems 9001/14001/45001

Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.Strong leadership skills to manage and develop teams.
Very good oral and written communication skills in English. Basic Swedish skills are considered as an advantage.
