The opportunity
HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems. Join Hitachi Energy as an Application Support Analyst where you support and train users in PLM & Engineering apps, provide documentation and training materials. As an Application Support Analyst you will also be involved in projects and process and maintaining of it. Everyone has different skills and competencies, and we are interested in learning more about you and what you can contribute with.
This role is based in Västerås or Ludvika, Sweden.
How you’ll make an impact
Support and develop virtualized and private cloud environments using technologies such as VMware vSphere, vRealize Operations, vCloud Director, and vCloud Usage Meter.
Contribute to stable, scalable, and secure multi-tenant environments, including capacity planning, templates and media file management, and ongoing platform improvements.
Resolve incidents and service requests through structured ticket handling, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
User license and access management, solving and managing support issues continuously.
Support and train our Global users and Power Users.
Reporting and collaborating with 3rd line support (Vendor and Application Suppliers).
Use automation and scripting (PowerShell) to improve reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Your background
Experience working with virtualization and cloud platforms, including VMware vSphere, vRealize Operations, vCloud Director, and related tools.
Solid understanding of infrastructure fundamentals, such as physical servers, TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, and access management.
Familiarity with multi-tenant architecture, strategic capacity planning, and enterprise-scale environments.
Comfortable working in support-oriented roles, handling incidents, change requests, and collaborating across teams.
A structured, curious, and collaborative approach, with an interest in learning and sharing knowledge.
Knowledge from HVDC design and engineering is qualifying.
Excellent communication skills in English, oral and written. Able to communicate in Swedish is considered as advantage.
Should have knowledge of ITIL
