DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Junior Data Platform Engineer to join our team and help us build, maintain, and improve the data platform that supports our business globally.
In this role, you will work with our data infrastructure and monitoring solutions to help ensure stable, healthy, and scalable production systems. You will be part of a collaborative team where you will learn from experienced colleagues, contribute to platform improvements, and help us develop new capabilities as business needs evolve.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to grow within data platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices.
This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and functions under a hybrid model, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
As a Junior Data Platform Engineer, you will:
Help develop and maintain our data infrastructure.
Support monitoring and observability solutions to ensure reliable production systems.
Contribute to improvements and new features on the data platform.
Work closely with teammates and other parts of Sinch to support and optimize existing solutions.
Participate in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Learn and grow in a supportive environment while contributing with your ideas and curiosity.
REQUIREMENTS
You have 0–3 years of experience in a relevant field such as Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar.
You are curious, eager to learn, and enjoy solving problems.
You have a strong analytical mindset and like working in a structured way.
You have some knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably GCP, or a strong interest in learning.
You have some exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices, for example through Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, or similar tools.
You have basic to intermediate SQL skills, preferably with exposure to BigQuery or other analytical databases.
A software development background is a plus.
You communicate well and enjoy working collaboratively with others.
