Bring your life
Are you a technical leader who thrives on developing both people and products? Do you enjoy balancing hands-on engineering insight with coaching and guiding a high-performing team? If so, this might be a good role for you.
What you´ll do at Thule
As Team Manager Design Engineering within our Bike Carrier Towball category, you will lead a team of Chief Engineers and Design Engineers, driving both people development and technical excellence. A key part of your role will be to stay close to your team, supporting their wellbeing, growth, and daily work, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
You will lead and allocate design resources across active projects in close collaboration with Chief Engineers, ensuring the right competencies are applied where they create the most value. With a structured approach to resource planning, you will manage short-, mid-, and long-term needs, aligning with project timelines and portfolio priorities.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with R&D Management, Test & Prototype, Category Management, and Supply Chain, contributing to both product and project planning. You will ensure high quality in technical documentation and take responsibility for addressing design-related claims.
You will also play an active role in building the team’s future by recruiting and developing talent. Through mentoring, thesis collaborations, and student engagement, you will help secure a strong pipeline of skilled engineers. Additionally, you will contribute to developing best practices, methods, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
What you bring
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a solid engineering background with a minimum of a bachelor's degree, combined with some years of experience in a leadership position. You bring proven ability to lead and motivate teams, supported by strong technical understanding and engineering experience.
You are a compassionate and structured leader who can maintain a sustainable yet high pace in projects. By combining strong interpersonal skills with a results-oriented mindset, you create an environment where both people and projects thrive.
With a high level of problem-solving ability, you confidently navigate both technical challenges and team dynamics. Your communication skills enable you to engage stakeholders, support your team, and drive alignment across functions.
Why you should join Thule
At Thule, we believe in strong teamwork both within your own team but also cross functionality between teams. We strive to be an open and curious organization, sharing our knowledge and inspiring one another.
Within Thule Group you will find people who have a passion for the products we make and the outdoor company we are. We share the same values, and we like to have fun. All of our employees have a joint responsibility to maintain that spirit and contribute to it.
