Research and Analysis Engineer

Do you want to work at the forefront of marine technology and contribute to the development of high‑performance, sustainable propulsion solutions used on vessels all over the world? Berg Propulsion is now looking for a Research and Analysis Engineer to strengthen our engineering capabilities within marine hydrodynamics, analysis, and internal tool development.
About the role
In this role, you will have a strong focus on detailed design and advanced analysis, combined with research activities and development of internal methods, tools, and procedures. You will work closely with experts in Marine Propulsion Engineering across the organization and act as a technical interface towards development, technical advisory functions, and sales support.
You will be part of a collaborative engineering environment where deep product knowledge, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement are key drivers.
The position is based at our Hönö office, located directly by the sea in the archipelago of Gothenburg. From here, you will support both the local business and our global sales offices in Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, and Istanbul, contributing to projects worldwide.
Key responsibilities
Perform hydrodynamic design and analysis for marine propulsion systems
Conduct and support Hydrodynamic analyses and research activities
Develop and maintain internal calculation tools, workflows, and analysis procedures
Contribute with technical expertise and advisory support internally and externally
Collaborate closely with engineers across disciplines, as well as international stakeholders
Communicate technical results clearly to different audiences
Who you are
We believe you are a team‑oriented engineer who enjoys working in depth with complex technical challenges. You have a strong personal drive to develop product knowledge and analysis methods, and you are comfortable explaining advanced engineering topics in both technical and non‑technical contexts.
