Job Summary
Digital Solutions Development within PS&E Automation & Solution is responsible for developing new Factory OS™, that is our next-generation digital ecosystem, built on open, modular smart factory technologies and decades of industry expertise.
You will be based in Modena, Italy or Lund, Sweden but you will work in a global arena.
What you will do
Test Specialist role while is primarily focused on functional testing, is also expected to actively contribute to test automation initiatives. These activities must be carried out with a strong emphasis on understanding business flows, application logic, and data consistency across systems. The ideal candidate is not a passive executor, but an active contributor who can reason about features end‑to‑end and engage constructively with the wider product and engineering organisation.
As our new Test Specialist, you will:
Perform manual functional testing on complex Web applications composed of multiple micro frontends.
Analyze and fully understand end‑to‑end functional flows, identifying dependencies, edge cases, and data requirements.
Locate, validate, and verify data across different layers of the platform during test execution.
Contribute to test automation strategy and actively develop test automation suite.
Review and refine functional test flows.
Translate high‑level functional flows and business requirements into structured test scenarios, test procedures, and test cases
Execute test procedures in close collaboration with developers and design team.
Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating proactively with Developers and Test Specialists to ensure timely resolution.
Act as a quality advocate, contributing feedback on requirements, designs, and implementations early in the in the lifecycle.
We believe you have
You have a Bachelor/master’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Automation Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of hands-on experience as Test Specialist or similar roles.
Deep understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Waterfall models.
Knowledge of risk-based testing, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
Ability to design and maintain automation frameworks
Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar for automated test pipelines.
Understanding of tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK stack for quality metrics.
Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
Certifications like ISTQB Certified Tester (CTFL), Foundation Level or equivalent.
You are fluent in English written and spoken.
One of the following languages is considered as a plus: Italian, Swedish.
You have good communications skills, written and spoken.
