Are you a specialist in pathology looking for a role where you can combine advanced diagnostics with a balanced lifestyle?
We are currently seeking specialist pathologists to join a modern and accredited laboratory in central Sweden, located in a region known for its coastal setting, rich history, and strong connection to nature.
About the Department
The clinical pathology and cytology unit plays a central role in diagnostics by analyzing tissue and cell samples using both microscopy and advanced digital systems. The goal is to provide accurate and timely diagnostic support to clinicians, improving patient outcomes and safety.
The department is part of a larger laboratory medicine organization and is at the forefront of digital pathology, with ongoing development in automation, robotics, and AI-driven diagnostics.
In addition to histopathology and cytology, the unit is also responsible for:
Gynecological screening programs
Autopsy services and morgue operations
Multidisciplinary clinical conferences
You will work in a collaborative and well-structured environment with experienced colleagues across multiple disciplines.
Your role
As a specialist in pathology, your work will include:
Diagnostic work in histopathology and cytology
Gross examination and specimen handling
Participation in clinical conferences and interdisciplinary discussions
Autopsy
Supervising and mentoring residents
Daytime on-call service for urgent diagnostic cases is shared within the team.
Qualifications
EU-recognized specialist certification in pathology
Experience in clinical pathology
Strong communication skills in English and a willingness to learn Swedish
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based environment
A structured, collaborative, and flexible approach
