We're looking for a collaborative Associate Forward Deployed AI Scientist (Graduate / Junior Data Scientist), at the start of their tech career, with foundational technical skills and eagerness to learn to join our AI Delivery team at Nordea. You'll learn to design and build scalable AI solutions with integrated directly in our service area/service domain model under the guidance of experienced professionals.

This position is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working location based in Helsinki, Finland, Copenhagen, Denmark, or Stockholm, Sweden. About our team
Meet the AI Delivery team. We're a collaborative and result-driven team working closely with every part of the bank to execute AI use cases. Our deep connections throughout Nordea and trusted reputation enable us to mentor new graduates and transform ambitious AI visions into practical, impactful solutions.
In this role, you'll be embedded with the business areas with senior guidance, building strong partnerships and gaining deep domain expertise. This collaboration creates natural pathways for future career development, including potential transitions into business teams where your AI expertise will be highly valued.
What you'll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
Learn to design, develop, and scale transformative AI applications from concept to production to create technology that makes a real impact
Contribute to AI applications that solve meaningful problems, partnering with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle under mentorship
Explore emerging AI tools and frameworks with guidance; share insights and assist in building proof-of-concepts to drive AI execution
Support engineers and product teams to translate business needs into practical AI solutions
Develop foundational skills in advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various business applications
Who you are
You'll thrive in this role if you're excited to start your career building AI solutions that solve real-world problems and drive meaningful change. You bring a growth mindset, collaborative problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities. We believe the person we are looking for have around three or less years of professional experience and are eager to start their career.
We are looking for recent graduates and final-year students with various academic backgrounds, qualifying for most of the following requirements:
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent academic experience (completed or graduating by summer 2026)
Academic projects, internships, or personal projects involving AI/ML concepts and basic implementation
Foundational software engineering skills with basic proficiency in Python and willingness to learn scalable, maintainable coding practices
Academic or project experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries, with eagerness to learn model implementation and optimization for production use
Basic understanding or willingness to learn cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), particularly AI/ML and data services
Excellent collaboration skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse teams including data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders
It would be ideal if you also have:
Academic interest or coursework in Generative AI and Machine Learning technologies
Project experience from agile environments or participation in tech-driven transformation projects
Academic exposure or personal projects with agent development frameworks such as AutoGen, CrewAI, LangGraph or similar and multi-agent system coordination
Basic understanding of testing methodologies and interest in learning performance monitoring and maintaining reliability in production environments
Have professional experience from working in regulated industries, i.e. Banking, Government, etc., preferably working with digital transformation initiatives
