Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to support the expansion of our global payment network across the Nordic and Baltic markets. This role spans business development support, partner management, marketing coordination, market analysis, and cross-functional project execution within a global organisation.
This is a developmental role within a lean regional team. In the initial phase, you will primarily support ongoing business development activities, partner coordination, and day-to-day operational processes. Over time, as you build familiarity with the market and internal workflows, you will be given increasing ownership of independent projects and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development Support:
Support and contribute to business development initiatives across Nordic and Baltic markets.
Assist in building and maintaining relationships with acquirers, payment partners, and key stakeholders.
Assist in executing regional strategies aligned with headquarters' global objectives.
Provide regular project updates and ensure compliance with internal processes and reporting requirements.
2. Acceptance Growth & Merchant Engagement:
Support acceptance coverage expansion in collaboration with local acquirers and payment providers.
Conduct merchant visits, perform test transactions, and ensure proper scheme signage deployment.
Identify opportunities to increase transaction volume and improve acceptance quality.
Travel regularly across Nordic and Baltic markets.
3. Marketing & Strategic Partnerships:
Support the development and execution of joint marketing campaigns with merchants and partners.
Participate in sponsorships, branding initiatives, and promotional activities.
Assist in identifying new partnership opportunities to accelerate market growth.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting (Advantage):
Analyse transaction data and market performance to identify growth opportunities.
Prepare insights and performance reports to support business decisions.
Evaluate campaign effectiveness and optimise market initiatives.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams across business development, marketing, operations, and headquarters.
Manage multiple priorities and navigate complex organisational processes in a global corporate environment.
6. Regional Coordination & Operational Support:
Support a wide range of regional operational tasks, including coordination related to budgeting, invoicing, procurement, and internal administration.
Liaise with finance, legal, marketing, and headquarters teams to ensure smooth execution of regional projects.
Assist with expense tracking, vendor coordination, and internal documentation when required.
Contribute to improving internal processes and operational efficiency within the region.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
2. 1–3 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or account management, preferably within payments, fintech, or financial services. Exceptional recent graduates with demonstrated commercial mindset and analytical ability are also welcome to apply.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
4. Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a structured corporate environment. Comfortable supporting a wide range of business, reporting, and operational processes.
5. Fluency in both English and Chinese is required, as the role involves frequent communication with headquarters. Proficiency in any Nordic language is a plus.
6. Experience with data analysis tools (Excel / SQL / Python / R / BI tools) is a strong advantage.
