Job Description:
The client is seeking a Data Engineer to support the development of data-driven solutions within a large-scale retail and digital ecosystem. This role is part of a learning-focused digital product area that supports a global workforce, requiring scalable and reliable data solutions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and platforms. The role includes working closely with cross-functional teams to align data architecture and ensure seamless integration across systems.
Key responsibilities involve building scalable data solutions using Databricks, Python, and SQL, ensuring data quality and governance, and optimizing data processing performance. The candidate will also contribute to developing secure data access layers, APIs, and services with proper authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Additionally, the role includes implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting systems, managing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting infrastructure as code practices. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate on backend development tasks and continuously improve data platform efficiency and reliability.
Experience Required:
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or a related field
Skills Required:
Strong experience in Data Engineering and backend development
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure cloud
Experience in building APIs and data access layers with secure authentication
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Git workflows
Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance optimization
Familiarity with scalable data architecture and data governance practices
Language Requirement:
English – Proficient (Mandatory)
